1. Self-love is often described as the foundation for personal growth and transformation. What does self-love mean to you, and how do you guide individuals to cultivate a deeper sense of self-acceptance?
We don’t love ourselves usually because we are judging everything. We judge who we are, what we are and we are not doing. We measure ourselves to scales of who we should be, where we should or need to be in life. And during our lives because of our experiences in the family, school, society, etc we develop identities to protect ourselves. Our true self which is the self without any identity and our higher conscious state of awareness, is pure unconditional love. Self-Love is removing the fears, removing the judgments, removing the identities so we can become aware of our existence as unconditional love.
My guidance for my clients is to help them by first starting to love their bodies, love their surroundings, and love their life. And that goes through a process of self-forgiveness, forgiveness of others, accepting themselves and life at any given moment. Their acceptance allows them to accept all the people in their lives and life itself. I help them recognize the identities and fears that are running their lives, many of which they are unaware exist. My award-winning book, ‘Change Yourself, Change the World: transform your life from fear-based living to choosing love and seeing magic’ has a lot of guidance for learning self-love and practicing acceptance.
2. Many people struggle with negative self-talk and limiting beliefs that stem from past traumas or societal conditioning. How do you help your clients release these barriers and reprogram their mindsets to embrace their true, authentic selves?
Often limiting beliefs and accompanying negative self-talk manifest as behaviours, patterns, and programs that operate in the background. I assist clients in becoming aware of these hidden patterns and their roots. Using various modalities, such as healing exercises and personalized mantras, I help them heal and release these traumas and reprogram their minds.
My book, Change Yourself, Change the World, provides valuable insights and exercises for overcoming these barriers as well. By addressing the roots of negative self-talk and limiting beliefs, clients can embrace their true, authentic selves and live more fulfilling lives.
3. The journey of self-discovery can be both exhilarating and daunting. What are some of the common challenges individuals face on this path, and how do you support them through these phases?
The path of self-discovery brings out all your fears and fear-based programming and it challenges you to see yourself fully, meaning, the identities that you have been living with that cover the real you…the formless you. During my sessions, I see these hidden identities, fears, and programming, and I guide in the healing and releasing of the fears and identities. And to help change the fear programming in place, I give my clients practices. These practices are individualized mantras, physical exercise, meditations, that will help them reprogram their behaviours and become aware of their patterns and identities. These practices help my clients with self-love, connecting with the passion in their hearts, trusting the universe, finding stillness in the mind, connecting to their heart as well as opening their hearts. Also I make myself available in between sessions for extra support to guide them through stronger patterns, behaviours, and shifts, so they do not fall into old patterns.
4. Your work emphasizes the importance of trusting the process of life and believing in one’s inner guidance system. Can you share some practical techniques or exercises that help individuals develop this trust and connect with their intuition?
It begins with self-love and acceptance. From this foundation, individuals can cultivate a practice of staying as the loving awareness of life. This practice involves mindfulness exercises, meditation, and single-page journaling
5. For someone just beginning their self-love and self-discovery journey, what would be your advice or words of encouragement to help them stay motivated and committed to the process?
I offer this advice: Remember that I have been where you are, and if I made it, so will you. The journey is not always easy, but it is incredibly rewarding. Stay committed to the process, practice self-love and forgiveness daily, and trust that you are on the path to discovering your true, authentic self.
