Born and raised in a family of trailblazers, Dr. Daneshvar inherited a strong spirit of determination and courage from her mother, who shattered glass ceilings in her native Shiraz, Iran. Her mother, the first female lawyer in the city to open her own practice following the 1979 Islamic Revolution, faced insurmountable challenges in a patriarchal legal system. Undeterred by threats and discrimination, she relentlessly fought for the rights of oppressed women and marginalized groups. Dr. Daneshvar carries this legacy forward, advocating for women’s rights and empowerment both in her career and personal life.
Dr. Daneshvar’s journey to becoming a dentist was marked by exceptional academic achievements. She earned her Honors Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, majoring in Human Biology and Mathematics. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to the University of Western Ontario, where she earned her DDS degree with distinction. Throughout her academic career, she consistently made the Dean’s Honors list and is the recipient of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Award in 2012, all of which are a testament to her dedication to excellence.
However, Dr. Daneshvar’s interests and talents extend far beyond the realm of dentistry. She is a true Renaissance woman, finding inspiration in various forms of art and culture. In her spare time, she immerses herself in the world of poetry, allowing her creativity to flow freely onto paper. Her hands are equally skilled at moulding clay into beautiful pottery, thanks to her well-equipped pottery wheel at home. This multifaceted approach to life underscores her belief in the importance of balance and self-expression.
Family is at the core of Dr Daneshvar’s life, and her mother serves as her ultimate role model. Her mother’s indomitable spirit and unwavering dedication to justice have left an indelible mark on Dr. Daneshvar’s character. She continues her mother’s legacy by advocating for women’s rights and gender equality, embodying the values of resilience and determination instilled in her from a young age. Her poems mostly written in Persian embody women’s rights and human rights atrocities suffered by modern-day Iran. She performed one of her latest pieces of poetry written for the “Woman Life Freedom” movement in Iran in September 2022 in the San Francisco protests.
In 2014, Dr. Daneshvar achieved a remarkable milestone in her dental career when she purchased her first practice, which initially had 600 patients. Through her dedication and commitment to patient care, she transformed it into a thriving practice with 6,000 patients within just five years. In 2017, she acquired her second practice, and in 2020, she proudly opened her third, demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit and leadership in the dental field. Dr Daneshvar believes in modernizing dentistry and keeping up with the most advanced dental technologies and techniques in all her practices. She also is a believer in making high-quality dentistry accessible for people from all walks of life, regardless of their socioeconomic status through implementing creative financing and payment plan structures designed and pioneered by Dr Daneshvar herself.
Dr. Daneshvar’s commitment to excellence and patient care extends to her pursuit of continuous education and advances in modern dentistry. She is a Gold Invisalign provider and avid believer that a balanced bite leads to a healthier lifestyle and has completed hundreds of complicated Orthodontic and Invisalign cases successfully over the years. She possesses extensive training in oral surgery and implantology. She routinely performs complicated wisdom teeth removal surgeries under sedation as well as all cases of Implant placements. She has a wholesome approach to dentistry which entails ensuring her patients’ overall health is addressed and attended to by collaborating with other health care professionals routinely. Her dedication to her profession is further underscored by her status as a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and her active membership in the International Association for Orthodontics, as well as the Ontario Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association.
